Relationship Diversity

Couples Psychotherapy

If you are having communication problems with your partner(s), or difficulty navigating your intimate relationship(s), or feel like a relationship is in trouble, I can meet with two of you together to teach you how to effectively communicate your concerns without blame, negotiate and find shared ground, and re-discover positive aspects of each other that can strengthen and re-vitalize your relationship(s).

You’re not alone in this. Many couples reach a point where they need support, clarity, and a safe place to talk.

Consensual Non-Monogamy / Ethical Non-Monogamy Psychotherapy

I have extensive experience supporting clients who are exploring or practicing consensual and ethical non-monogamy (CNM/ENM). You may identify as open or poly, find yourself in a poly constellation you didn’t anticipate, or feel challenged by issues of consent or pressure to conform within CNM/ENM communities. You may also be curious about polyamory and wondering whether it feels right for you.

You might be navigating new territory in an open relationship with a partner or spouse, needing to renegotiate boundaries so that consent feels clear and mutual, or be part of a throuple or triad enjoying the relationship while wondering how to sustain it without a roadmap, especially in a heteronormative society that offers little support. In some cases, clients also feel pressure to consent to non-monogamy in order to maintain a long-term partnership.

Clients often come to this work with concerns including:

  • time constraints and logistics
  • discomfort with hierarchy or uncertainty about how to work with it
  • ensuring fully informed consent rather than assumed or pressured consent
  • feeling that their needs are not being met
  • how to talk with children or extended family about their relationships
  • how to end one relationship thoughtfully within a larger constellation

In our work together, I draw from an eclectic range of approaches, including assertiveness training so you feel heard and have a clear voice, exploration of different models of consent, and creative, practical guidance you can apply directly to your relationships. Throughout our work, I remain respectful of your self-identification, desires, and choices, and support you in building relationships that feel ethical, sustainable, and fulfilling.
